The development included a nine-level life sciences building over 3 and 4 levels of underground parking. Anchored soldier pile shoring was used along the south and west sides adjacent the city right-of-way and shoring was not required along the north side (just back-lagged existing shoring piles from the adjacent deeper project). The east side adjacent an alley was up to 45 feet high and the soldier piles were supported by a single row of rakers as temporary construction easements were not available from the property to the east of the alley. The construction sequence for the internally-braced east wall included temporary support of the upper portion of the soldier piles with short bar anchors that were contained within the alley width in order to permit construction of the temporary soil berm and placement of the supporting rakers, which reacted to anchored piles inside the site.
